Silk suture can be used as ligatures for removable fixtures and cardiovascular surgery (for suturing the grafts) also used in general surgery, ophthalmic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and orthopedic surgery. Black braided silk sutures have moderate tissue reaction. It is ideal for skin closure. Black braided silk is neither absorbed nor subjected to weakening by tissue enzymes.
