Neomycin is an antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections. Dexamethasone is a steroid. It is used to treat the inflammation associated with bacterial infections of the eye. Neomycin and dexamethasone ophthalmic is used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes.
